Dr. Shabir Ally is President of the Islamic Information & Dawah Centre International in Toronto and an internationally renowned speaker, scholar and theologian. He holds a PhD in Islamic studies from the University of Toronto. For 35 years, he has been an active member of the Muslim community in Toronto and an avid participant in interfaith dialogues. He founded Let the Quran Speak in 2001.


Dr. Safiyyah Ally hosted LQS from 2006 until 2014, when she left Canada for Egypt. She has since returned to Canada. In 2019, she completed her PhD in Political Science at the University of Toronto, where her work focused on the legal protection of freedom of conscience and religion in Canada. She rejoined LQS in early 2019 as Executive Producer.

Aisha Khaja became host of LQS in late 2014. She holds an M.A. in Education from the University of Toronto and is employed in the Ontario Public Service. She is away on maternity leave and intends to return in early 2020.

Ilyas was the first Executive Producer of LQS. He continues to contribute towards content development and strategic planning.

Abeer has been with LQS for 10 years. She is a graduate with an H.BA in Film production & Screenwriting. Abeer’s institutional knowledge of the organization and technical expertise are vital to the continued operations of LQS.

Magdi has experience producing religious programming in the Middle East for popular Muslim preachers Amr Khaled and Ahmed Al-Shaqiri. He provides hands-on training and technical advice to the production team.


Dean Qureshi, Producer  

Dean has been producing television and film for nearly 20 years. A graduate of Michigan State University College of Law with a focus on Entertainment Law, Dean is well versed in all sides of television production. He also acquired his B.A. in Philosophy at York University in Toronto. Having produced a television series on OMNI entitled “Canadian Desi,” and the documentary “Day of Ibrahim,” Dean has presented to a Muslim audience and others for many years.


Khaled Mansour, Video Editor

Before coming to Canada, Khaled was a TV news producer in MBC group. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration, and he has always had a passion for media. This passion resulted in over 10 years of combined experience in the media production industry. Khaled produced 5000+ hours of live shows with MBC group, Egyptian State TV Nile News, ONTV and Iris Media.


Eric Metzloff, Video Editor

From corporate videos to narrative content, Eric’s post-production work has been showcased at film festivals and industry events around the world. When he’s not in the editing suite, Eric can be found with camera in his hand, capturing as many portraits as he can.

Abdul Azim Azeez, Assistant Director
Abdul Azim is a mechanical engineer by training and works globally to provide digital solutions to industrial companies. Over the years, he has lived and spent time with Muslim teachers, judges and scholars, learning valuable Islamic creeds. He is a passionate member of LQS with the aspiration of reviving the sunnah and propagating the light of the Quran.

Amy Beckwith, Second Assistant Director
Amy has a history in live event production and coordination. She has successfully managed continuity and production sound. Her welcoming personality helps guests feel immediately comfortable on set.

Ehab Elhag, Camera Operator and Lighting Technician
Ehab is a petroleum engineer by training. He is training with the aim of participating in the Olympics. Ehab works to ensure proper framing and lighting at all times.

Nawal Salim, Camera Operator and Lighting Technician

Nawal Salim is an actress and filmmaker who completed a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Documentary Media from Ryerson University. She has a keen eye for detail and is the queen of wisecracks on set!

Mazin Mohammed, Production Assistant
Mazin is our youngest team member. A high school student, his energy and enthusiasm on set inspire the rest of the production team. He is quick to get every task completed and is a trusted hand to all.
