Upcoming Guest: Ibtihal Aboussad

We are pleased to announce an upcoming guest on Let the Quran Speak, Ibtihal Aboussad, a software engineer and ethical technology advocate whose story has sparked important conversations around conscience, responsibility, and professional integrity in the tech industry, particularly in relation to the genocide in Gaza.

About Ibtihal Aboussad

Ibtihal is a software engineer with experience in artificial intelligence and previously worked within Microsoft’s AI Platform organization. Her journey gained public attention following her decision to speak out during Microsoft’s 50th Anniversary event, raising concerns about the use of Microsoft’s technology by the Israeli military.

Her actions were rooted in a strong sense of moral conviction and accountability, reflecting her commitment to aligning professional work with ethical and humanitarian principles.

Her Story and Journey

On the show, we will explore Ibtihal’s personal and professional journey, including the experiences that shaped her perspective long before the protest. We will look at the key moments that led to her decision to speak out, as well as the challenges and consequences that followed.

The conversation will also reflect on what it is like to work within large institutions, and how individuals navigate tensions between personal conscience and professional expectations.
